“I was reminded of many Lovecraftian movies (notably ‘Reanimator’, with the emphasis on Miskatonic University), but also ‘Evil Dead’ and even ‘The Texas Chainsaw Massacre.’ The escalating fear of the protagonists is tangible, and there were several points where it genuinely seemed like there was no way out for them.”

“I was hooked on reading Litany of Dreams from the moment I’d devoured my way through the prologue. This was a book, quite different, to all the others I’d read recently; offering a call back to my teenaged years of reading horror with an opening so spill-chillingly captivating that I knew, before the book had even truly begun, I was going to enjoy every, disturbing minute of it.”

“This will be an obvious choice for fans of the Arkham Horror board and card games and the co-op universe, but for a broader audience who are not necessarily already fans of the canonical Lovecraft stories, this could be a good fit as well. It’s very well written and while it is horror, there’s very little actual gore (mostly some body horror).”
– Non-Stop Reader

“this book was A LOT of fun. I’ve read a few different reimaginings in the Lovecraft universe this year, and they definitely are a little dry. This had a lot of action, some compelling characters and a really fun story.”

“I think [Litany of Dreams] might make the cut to be on my best of 2021 list actually. It hooked my attention right off the bat!”
– Never Anyone Else

“Let me tell you this book knocked my sock off! It was engaging, exciting, funny, terrifying and most of all it was really fun! It had everything I want from a horror novel. ”
– Sue Kitty

“Litany of Dreams has a very unusual feel for an Arkham book – whilst the growing, insurmountable dread is definitely there, the general vibe of large parts of the book felt more like a zombie apocalypse story – the shrinking numbers of survivors trying to stay alive against what feels like a never-ending wave of monstrously-transformed humans.”
– The Storyboard

“I did enjoy this cool supernatural mystery, and the mood in it is absolutely fantastic.”
– The Elder Books

“Litany of Dreams is a fast-paced horror mystery with an enjoyable setting and it took me on a ride to a world that I had not experienced before. The ending was great as well as the commentary on the partnerships that we have to make to find the people we love or chase down the answers we seek.”
– The Nerd Daily

“I greatly enjoyed Litany of Dreams, Marmell does a fantastic job with his character work and setting up this oppressive air of something terribly wrong having happened”
